There are many, many posts that follow this one. Like, five of them, cause I'm lame and take too long to blog anything. So you might want to hit older posts at the bottom of the page to see the rest of them, or click away from this blog cause it really is just too much! lol. At least it is done, yeah?
Preston has been in Cub Scouts since January and has been looking forward to Cub Scout Day Camp for a long time. The day camp was at Belk Scout Camp which is only about 20 minutes from our house. The boys participated in a lot of fun activities such as boating, archery, fishing, crafts, etc. Big Preston volunteered to be an adult leader for one of the days and was able to take a lot of pictures.

Decorating a picture frame with seashells… Preston’s approach was to smear glue all over the frame and then dump the cup of shells and hope a lot would stick. It worked pretty well! Emma thought he bought it at a gift shop and said it looked “professional.”
After finishing with their picture frames (which took the boys about 4.5 minutes of their 45 minute class) they played card games and marbles and had a good time.
Exploring the “pirate ship” after a hike…
Making ice cream – Preston was the first (but not the last) to dump a good portion of his mixture because he didn’t zip it closed. The boys had to mix the bag of ice cream inside a larger bag of ice and rock salt for 10 to 15 minutes and as you can see his hands got rather cold…
Boating on the lake… Big Preston remembers the lakes at Scout camp being much bigger, but that is probably the case for most dad’s that are former Scouts.
Swimming at the pool – I don’t think I ever had a pool at Scout camp.
Preston had a lot of fun at archery and even got a “bull's-eye.” Big Preston got in on the action as well and both of them had the chance to do a “bulls-eye dance” which is very technical and quite attractive.
Preston’s “bulls-eye”…
“Go Preston, it’s your birthday… gonna party like it’s your birthday.” Ok, maybe not but the dance is pretty funny and he had a lot of fun doing it.
Big Preston having some fun too…
One of the many trails at camp, all the Scouts had a great time.
Preston’s den singing their cheer song which was a rendition of the BYU Cougar’s fight song (Preston’s idea… that’s my boy!).
Preston and his Cub Scout University shirt and hat. After 5 days of camp the shirt didn’t look too bad thanks to ALL! He has worn it at home a few times and always seems to put it on backwards…

Camping is great fun! Preston II looks like he had a good time. Glad that Preston got to spend some time with him.
We love seeing all the updates!
